During the autumn leaf season in Kyoto, it is travel and meals, more than the sights, that consume the day. Fixing a meal somewhere central makes the rest much easier to plan.
Use Shijo-Kawaramachi as a base
Yasaka Shrine, Gion and Nishiki Market are all within walking distance of Shijo-Kawaramachi. Wagyu Steak HIRO is a short walk from Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, on the 8th floor of Kyoto Kawaramachi Garden, and 4 minutes from Keihan Gion-Shijo Station.
Shift your meal times
Lunch runs 11:00-15:00 and dinner 15:00-22:00 (L.O. 21:30). Arriving after the midday peak, or eating early in the evening, both fit neatly between sights.
What to eat after a long walk
100% Kobe beef hamburg steak, hand-kneaded in our kitchen (180g), and wagyu steak finished on the iron plate. From the window seats you can look out over the lights of Kyoto.
